The firm studying the city’s hiring disparities among minority- and women-owned businesses has been hit with at least four gender-discrimination lawsuits in federal court since 2003.

Florida-based MGT of America settled all four of the complaints, which included claims of female employees being “held to a different standard” than men and “mistreatment,” court records show.

The firm inked a $917,230, two-year contract with the city in November to conduct the study on municipal hiring of minority- and women-owned companies.

“It is reprehensible that this mayor once again slaps the minority community in the face by offering a contract to a company that historically discriminates against woman and minorities,” the Rev. Johnnie Green, president of the statewide clergy group Mobilizing Preachers & Communities, said Sunday.

A city spokeswoman said, “We are confident in the vendor.”
