A young man drowned last night after fishing with friends from rocks off the north shore of Staten Island, police said.

Nemesio Rojas-Samora, 21, was hit by a wave and swept into the Kill Van Kull, authorities said. A police source said he could not swim. Rojas-Samora was pulled out by FDNY divers and rushed to nearby Richmond University Hospital, where he died.
