A man walked into a Bronx police station house looking for information about places to stay — and ended up confessing to a year-old double murder, police sources told the Post Wednesday.

Javani Stewart, a 23-year-old from Florida, waltzed into the 40th Precinct station house in the South Bronx shortly after 11 p.m. looking for details about homeless shelters but soon told cops he committed a double murder in Miami Gardens in March 2018, sources said.

Stewart allegedly told police he fatally shot Donald Armstrong III and Stephen Campbell, both 23, on the afternoon of March 23, 2018, as they sat in a car near the Palmetto Expressway.

The gunman was then seen getting out of the car and fleeing, CBS Miami reported.

Campbell was pronounced dead at the scene. Armstrong was rushed to a nearby hospital, but he could not be saved, authorities said.

After speaking with detectives overnight, Stewart was held by the NYPD until Wednesday afternoon, when he was due to appear before a judge regarding his extradition to Florida.
