A coalition of businesses led by Gristedes owner John Catsimatidis is trying to enlist City Council members to get Gov. Cuomo to kill a proposal to build the city’s first Walmart in Brooklyn.

“Walmart’s destructive impact on its surrounding communities is well-documented and we will gladly provide you with any additional information you may need,” according to an e-mail from Catsimatidis’ lobbyist sent to council members Friday.

The retail giant is angling to open a store in East New York and is eyeing a state-owned parcel. Labor unions and their political allies have opposed the project.

Walmart representatives had no comment.
