An ex-CNBC television director from Westchester County has been sentenced to five years of sex offender probation for spying on his family’s teen nanny through a hidden bathroom camera, officials said.
Daniel Switzen, 45, of Pleasantville, will also have to register as a sex offender, Westchester County District Attorney Anthony A. Scarpino Jr. said Tuesday in an announcement.
In November 2017 Switzen was arrested for the crime and in May he pleaded guilty to a charge of unlawful surveillance in the second degree.
Prosecutors say that on Nov. 13, 2017, Switzen, a father of two, placed a secret camera in a bathroom inside his Pleasantville home.
The camera was hidden inside of a tissue box and was discovered by the victim – a teenage nanny hired by the Switzen family.
Switzen copped to placing the camera in the bathroom to capture the teenager and her friends on video.
A Sex Offender Registration Act hearing for Switzen is scheduled for Nov. 13.
