A four-alarm blaze tore through two buildings on the Upper West Side Friday night.

The fire started on the third floor of a building on Amsterdam Avenue near West 85th Street and the flames quickly spread to an adjacent building, according to the police.

An elderly woman and six firefighters suffered minor injuries in the blaze.

The fire continued to rage for more than two hours. It required more than 170 firefighters to bring it the flames under control.

“I knew there was a child [that lives] in one of the apartments,” Brady Byrnes, the manager of a bar on the building’s ground level, said. “Luckily they were already gone.”
