A 4-year-old boy was among six people hurt in a fire that raged inside a Brooklyn home early Monday, officials said.
The blaze broke out around 1:15 a.m. on the top floor of a three-story apartment building on Pitkin Avenue near Barbey Street in East New York, according to the FDNY.
A 4-year-old boy who suffered burns was taken to NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center’s burn unit, according to police sources.
A 45-year-old man and 37-year-old woman were taken to the same hospital with minor burns — and an 18-year-old man was transported there for smoke inhalation, the sources said.
Two firefighters who battled the flames were also hospitalized, according to the FDNY.
The fire was placed under control at 1:40 a.m. The cause remains under investigation — though it is not currently believed to be suspicious.
