The feds burst out of the gate yesterday in an attempt to seize up to 32 race horses owned by opera-loving fraudster Alberto Vilar’s partner in crime.

Prosecutors say crooked investment adviser Gary Tanaka has owned “numerous race horses in the recent past,” with the British Horse Racing Authority currently listing him as the owner of nine thoroughbreds, including King’s Drama, Philatelist and Touch of Land.

A recent online report also said Tanaka “maintains a stable of about 20 horses that are competing overseas,” according to the Manhattan federal court filing.

They said the order is needed because Vilar, a former board member of the Metropolitan Opera, tried to sell off a piano “through a third party” earlier this year.

Vilar and Tanaka — who are awaiting sentencing on fraud and conspiracy convictions — face a potential $80 million-plus forfeiture order, but have no more than $34 million in assets between them, the court papers say.
