Mayor Bloomberg wants to start playing games with New Yorkers.
As part of a plan to increase interaction with residents, city officials announced partnerships yesterday with Facebook, Twitter and other social-media sites, a revamping of the NYC.gov site, and the development of digital games for civic good.
“Games have enormous potential for helping New Yorkers because they present information in a way that’s fun and engaging,” said Rachel Sterne, the city’s chief digital officer.
Residents could see games such as a scavenger hunt in which points are awarded for visiting parks and other sites, Sterne said.
