BLOOMINGTON, Ind. — The mother of an Indiana University student who vanished in June says she doesn’t feel any closer to finding her daughter six months later.

Charlene Spierer told more than 50 people who gathered Saturday in Bloomington to mark sixth months since 20-year-old Lauren Spierer vanished that she and her husband will never stop looking for their daughter. But she also said, “I don’t feel like we’re any closer to finding Lauren.”

The Herald-Times reports Saturday’s gathering was outside the Bloomington apartment where the Greenburgh, NY, resident lived before she vanished June 3 after a night out with friends.

Lauren Spierer’s IU classmates, roommates, childhood friends and volunteer searchers later walked to Fountain Square Mall, where a small blue tree is decorated with tags featuring photos of Spierer.
