George Zimmerman’s lawyers were looking over their shoulders during a visit to New York City yesterday — for the wine steward.

As protesters sweated for a third day from LA to New York, the defense lawyers who masterminded Saturday’s controversial acquittal of the “Stand Your Ground” gunman shared two bottles of Perrier-Jouët at the swanky Upper East Side restaurant Nello.

Mark O’Mara and Don West were joined at lunch by Bill Clinton attorney Mark Geragos and a pair of lady friends.

The jovial group also enjoyed some chilled lobster salad at the eatery on Madison at 62nd Street.

O’Mara is the lawyer who famously — and bizarrely — insisted, post-verdict, that if Zimmerman had been black, “he would never have been charged with a crime.”

West is the one who said, “I think the prosecution of George Zimmerman was disgraceful . . . I’m thrilled that the jury kept this tragedy from becoming a travesty.”

Zimmerman was acquitted by a six-woman jury on Saturday night in the self-defense shooting death of unarmed Trayvon Martin.

As the group left the restaurant, Geragos stopped to put some cash in the cup of a man who was begging just outside.

O’Mara and West, for the record, did not.

“From Day One, I knew he was ot guilty,” O’Mara said of Zimmerman as he left.

Meanwhile, the Justice Department set up a public e-mail address requesting any information regarding the case.

Attorney General Eric Holder told the NAACP yesterday that he would “consider all available information” before deciding to move forward with a possible federal civil-rights case against Zimmerman.
