It really screwed up his commute.
A massive, rusty bolt felt from the Queensboro Plaza elevated subway N/W tracks Tuesday morning — and smashed through the sunroof of a man’s car.
Philip Garcia, 31, of Kew Gardens, was making his way slowly down Queens Plaza at 27th Street when he heard glass shatter in his Ford Explorer — and looked back to find glass from his backseat sunroof strewn across the vehicle.
“When you hear that, you think maybe somebody threw a glass bottle at you,” Garcia told The Post.
“I checked the sunroof, and there was a huge bolt along the lining of the car.”

Fortunately, Garcia had already dropped his 7-year-old daughter at school.
But he doesn’t have glass insurance and is on the hook for the bill, which he hopes the MTA will pay. He said the agency has reached out.
This year has seen a rash of incidents involving rusty debris falling from subway tracks — particularly in Queens. The MTA recently announced plans to install netting and other repositories beneath all of its elevated lines.
In a statement, MTA spokesman Tim Minton said protective measures are already in place at Queensboro Plaza, and that the track underwent an inspection on Oct. 17.

“We are investigating how and why the bolt came loose and was not caught by the system as designed,” he said.
