The pharmaceutical millionaire accused of feeding a lethal concoction of meds to her autistic son at a posh Manhattan hotel wept Monday when his autopsy photos were shown to jurors at her murder trial.
Gigi Jordan, 54, covered her eyes with her hands as one of her attorneys passed her tissues and another patted her on the back.
The disturbing images of 8-year-old Jude Mirra were presented when Dr Monica Smiddy of the medical examiner’s office took the stand.
She told jurors the cause of the death was the poisonous mixture of crushed pills and orange juice that Jordan allegedly forced down her son’s throat with a syringe at the swanky Peninsula Hotel in February of 2010.
In the morning, toxicologist Dr Edward Barbieri outlined the shocking quantity of drugs found in Mirra’s system including Xanax and Ambien at more than 15 times an adult dose.
The trial continues Thursday before Justice Charles Solomon.
