Gin & tonic? She’d tap that
An East Village bar has made serving gin and tonics so fundamentally simple that your average soda jerk could pour one. The Gin Palace on Avenue A has put the standard cocktail on tap, like beer.
“It’s still just as quality as any other cocktail. It just expedites things so you can bring the price down,” said the lounge’s owner, Ravi DeRossi.
The Palace serves its G&T — made of Gordon’s Gin, Bitterman’s Commonwealth liqueur and grapefruit bitters for $7 — a price that could almost make customers forget they’ve just ordered alcohol in Manhattan.
