A 4-month-old girl was found abandoned in front of a Bronx nail salon early Friday – and cops have arrested her mother, police said.
The infant was discovered sleeping in a stroller, alone, around 5:20 a.m. outside Judy’s Nails on Eastchester Road near Mace Avenue in Pelham Gardens when cops responded to a 911 call, authorities said.
Witnesses told police the mother, later identified as Jawana Sallie, 41, had left the child and walked away, cops said.
The 4-month-old girl’s mother has been arrested and wasn’t immediately charged, cops said. Google MapsThe infant was clothed and appeared to be in good health, police said.
As a precaution, she was taken to Jacobi Medical Center to be examined.
Sallie was arrested around 7 a.m. on East Gun Hill Road near Fenton Avenue, cops said.
The Administration for Children’s Services was notified, authorities said. It’s unclear if Sallie has any other children.
