A 6-year-old girl was stabbed in the stomach during a robbery as she was walking with her dad on the Lower East Side early Thursday, police said.

The girl’s father was accosted by two males at 12:30 a.m. at Monroe and Pike streets, where one of the suspects apparently tried to stab him when the child got in between them, cops said.

It was unclear whether the girl had been trying to defend her dad.

The robbers stole the man’s jewelry and a credit card before fleeing on foot in an unknown direction, according to Fox 5 New York.

The girl was taken to Bellevue Hospital, where she underwent surgery, the news outlet reported.

Her condition is not believed to be life-threatening, police said.

No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing.
