An 8-year-old girl leaped from a sixth-floor balcony — breaking both her legs — to escape a raging inferno at a Bronx high-rise, The Post has learned.
The fire broke out around 6 p.m. Wednesday at the 17-story building on East 169th Street in the Morrisania section, according to officials.
Video from the scene shows flames shooting out a window and black smoke billowing into the sky.
The girl became trapped by the blaze and jumped from the balcony, police sources said.
It’s unclear where she landed.
Her 17-year-old aunt was outside smoking when the fire broke out, rushed in to try to save the girl — but was forced away because of the heavy smoke, sources said.
