Getting groped on the subway doesn’t seem like something to shout about, but that might be the best way to get back at creepy subterranean perverts.

That was Yonkers resident Tina Santiago’s reaction when a man rubbed his crotch against her on the subway, and it seemed to scare him off.

“I turned around and screamed,” said Santiago, 30, as she rode the 6 train yesterday. “The train was very crowded, but he didn’t have to be so close.”

Complaints about gropers are up 4 percent this year, but groping busts are down 6 percent, police said.

The City Council is weighing a bill that would require police to better track the problem.

The majority of attacks have been on the 4, 5 and 6 trains between Union Square and Grand Central stations.

Lindsey Oxendine, 27, of Sunset Park, Brooklyn, who was riding along that stretch yesterday, said men have exposed themselves to her twice on the trains.

“If it’s intentional, I say, ‘Back off!’ or I move,” she said.
