ALBANY, N.Y. — Need your New York senator? The automated e-mail responses for many of them over the holiday weekend told constituents they’d get right back to them when they return to the office — in a couple of years.
The apparent computer glitch that hit as many as 40 of the 62 senators is now being fixed by the technology office under the Democratic majority.
One senator’s automated response said he’d return to the office in 2012. Another e-mail response said a senator would be happy to take the constituent’s concern when he returned to the office in 2015.
A spokesman for the Senate’s Democratic majority blamed the error on new software and said it hit both Democrats and Republicans.
