A Brooklyn man whose résumé includes time in prison and a stint putting ads on bus-stop shelters also proved himself a good lawyer yesterday.
Elie Granger, acting as his own attorney, did get convicted of stabbing a stranger for no reason in 2008, but he managed to get the Queens jury to drop the top charge.
Granger, 49, wheeled his bike up to a woman walking with her 13-year-old daughter in Long Island City and stabbed the mom.
The two-week trial, highlighted by Granger’s angry exchanges with his victim, ended with him acquitted of attempted murder but convicted of assault.
But it was only a moral victory, since both charges carry a maximum of 25 years in prison.
At one point, he demanded of victim Eduarda Oliva: “How did you know it was me?”
In dramatic testimony she responded, “All I remember are those evil eyes . . . looking at me while I was dying. I will never forget that moment.”
