A Good Samaritan who stopped to help a stranded motorist in Queens was fatally struck by a hit-and-run driver, police said.

Cops are now searching for the driver, who abandoned his vehicle and ran off.

The episode unfolded Friday at about 8:20 p.m. when police responded to a 911 call of a car hitting a person near Nassau Expressway and North Hangar Road in southeast Queens.

The victim, 51, was standing outside his own vehicle, trying to help the driver of a 2001 red Dodge Caravan which had broken down, when he was struck by a blue 2012 Ford E350 van, cops said.

The Ford driver then left his vehicle and ran off.

EMS rushed the victim to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

There have been no arrests, and an investigation is ongoing, police said.

The identity of the dead man was withheld pending family notification.
