A woman was struck and seriously injured by an MTA access-a-ride van near the corner of 14th Street and 6th Avenue Thursday night.
The incident unfolded around 8:00 p.m. when the access-a-ride van pulled to the northwest corner of the intersection and struck the woman, witnesses said.
The woman was stuck underneath the van after being hit, but a handful of good Samaritans rushed to her aid and were able to get her to safety.
“I saw a bunch of people yelling and running to the van. They were able to lift the woman out and get her to an ambulance,” said witness Lilla Ramos.
“They acted really fast,” Ramos said.
The woman was taken to Bellevue Hospital in serious but stable condition.
No criminality was suspected in the accident, cops said.
