Connecticut’s Democratic Sen. Chris Dodd is getting battered by Republicans in the latest poll.

Ex-Rep. Rob Simmons opened up an 11-point lead over the five-term senator in the latest Quinnipiac University poll. Dodd also trailed Linda McMahon, the former World Wrestling Entertainment CEO who is spending heavily in her campaign for the GOP nod.

Pretty much any Republican is faring well against Dodd, whose image was tarnished by his failed presidential bid and participation in a “VIP” loan from Countrywide Financial Corp.
