TRENTON, NJ — The Republican State Committee is picking up the tab for Gov. Chris Christie to fly to a fund-raiser in a State Police helicopter.

Christie was flown to Saddle River from Trenton on Monday night.

The copter landed in a field at the Saddle River Day School, and Christie was driven to the fund-raiser and then home.

Christie drew scrutiny last year about his helicopter use.

He and the Republican State Committee later reimbursed taxpayers for the trips.
