GOP to rule Senate
ALBANY — Republicans won control of the next state Senate yesterday as New York’s top court found that Jack Martins of Mineola — whose election gives the GOP a one-vote majority — won the Nov. 2 election.
The ruling, which cannot be appealed, ended the prospect of weeks of contentious ballot recounting that would have left the Senate under uncertain control.
