Grand Central standard time
The MTA board yesterday approved a sweeping overhaul of its rules regarding what businesses can set up shop in Grand Central Terminal.
The move comes after Alfred Catalanotto was told that he couldn’t open up his Central Market Chill because the agency didn’t find the snack shop fancy enough — even though he was the highest bidder.
The MTA will now use a scoring system to determine who gets a coveted spot in the station. Seventy percent of the score is based on how much the shop can pay in rent; 30 percent on how likely it is to attract other shops and customers.
