A Long Island grandmother allegedly drove drunk with two terrified kids in the back seat — and was stopped by cops only because a wheel came off her car.

Mary Kimbrough, 64, was pulled over on Commack Road near Motor Parkway Friday night when a Suffolk cop heard a loud noise coming from her 2004 Honda and realized the Wyandanch woman had been riding on the rim “for some distance” without her left front tire.

Sgt. Jay Veronko found a pair of kids, ages 9 and 11, scared witless in the back, police said. The kids, one of whom is believed to be Kimbrough’s grandchild, were trying to call relatives for help on a cellphone, police said.

Kimbrough, who has a 2009 DWI conviction, faces several charges, including endangering the welfare of a child, aggravated driving while intoxicated and driving drunk with a child passenger younger than 15 years old, according to police. The children were released into the custody of family members.
