Three idle World War II machine shops at the Brooklyn Navy Yard will be combined into a 220,000-square-foot center for environmentally friendly manufacturing, thanks to a $15 million state Senate grant.

The structure will provide spaces for green manufacturers, said Andrew Kimball, president of the Navy Yard Development Corp.
