The grieving mother of slain 8-year-old Thomas Valva clutched the hands of her two remaining sons Wednesday on Long Island as she arrived to the wake of the boy who was allegedly murdered by his NYPD cop dad last week.
Dressed in black, Justyna Zubko-Valva attended the gathering at the Mangano Funeral Home in Deer Park with Thomas’ brothers, 6-year-old Andrew and 10-year-old Anthony.
Heart-wrenching images from the wake show a blown up photo of Thomas’ smiling face against a blue sky, with a short poem etched below.
“When tomorrow starts without me do not think we are apart. For every time you think of me, remember I am right here in your heart,” the tapestry read.
Other photos show a large teddy bear with a Correction Officers’ Benevolent Association hat, several large bouquets of flowers and tables laden with gifts for the family.
The wake was scheduled from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 7 to 9:30 p.m. on Wednesday, with a mass set for 9:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Roman Catholic Church in Melville.

At a vigil at Kalers Pond in Center Moriches Sunday, Zubko-Valva remembered Thomas as a “little angel” who “loved everybody.”
The mom — who lost custody of her kids in 2017 during a bitter, ongoing divorce battle with Michael Valva — was awarded temporary custody of her surviving boys on Monday.
Authorities say Michael Valva, 40, a 15-year officer assigned to the transit bureau, allegedly left his autistic son in the family’s garage overnight, causing him to freeze to death amid bone-chilling 19-degree temperatures.
Valva and his fiancée, Angela Pollina, 42, were charged with murder on Friday.
