About half the people who showed up to a fundraiser for disgraced lawmaker Vito Lopez in Brooklyn last night were there to protest.

The event in Williamsburg was one of the first public appearances by the Brooklyn assemblyman since a sexual-harassment scandal that unfolded eight months ago. About 30 hecklers met him outside.

“Hide your daughters, wives and girlfriends,” a group of about 30 protestors chanted, calling him by The Post’s nickname for him, “Gropez.”

Earlier this month, Lopez filed papers to explore a possible run for City Council, despite allegations that he groped young women working for him.

“This is America. You’re saying me, as a citizen, based on allegations, I have no right to explore whether to even run?” he said yesterday when asked of his possible bid.
