An out-of-control driver plowed into a concrete pillar on the Major Deegan Expressway, killing his passenger and himself and critically injuring three other occupants, police said.
The motorist, in a Chrysler Charger, was spotted driving erratically on the north bound lane of the Deegan Expressway prior to the gruesome crash which occured near the Cross Bronx Expressway at 12:25 a.m., cops said.
A 16-year-old girl, a 21-year-old man and an 18-year-old man were all rushed to St. Barnabas Hospital. The 30-year-old motorist and a passenger were pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
