A Brooklyn man pleaded guilty today to masterminding a scheme to boost the credit scores of thousands of deadbeats so they could secure millions of dollars in loans from banks and other lenders.

Edwin Jacquet, who perpetrated the scam while on supervised release in a previous fraud case, faces up to six and a half years in the slammer under terms of a plea bargain with Manhattan federal prosecutors.

Jacquet, 39, also agreed to pay more than $9 million in restitution for filing bogus reports with the Experian and TransUnion credit bureaus on behalf of customers who paid several hundred dollars each for the crooked service.
