A retired decorated firefighter died yesterday of lung disease triggered by his grueling two-months working at Ground Zero, his widow said.

William Quick, 55, a 23-year veteran whose childhood dream was to join the FDNY, died at his Long Island home where he was on oxygen 24/7, said widow Lisa Quick.
