Now that’s insult to injury.

Sickened Ground Zero workers are outraged that most of the money from their $662.5 million-plus settlement with the city won’t arrive until later this year — at the earliest.

Initial payments of $3,250 are expected to be sent to all 10,000-plus plaintiffs by “sometime in February,” according to a letter from the lead law firm in the case, which was obtained by The Post.

But it will take “at least several months” before “interim payments” of 40 percent go out to the most seriously injured 9/11 responders, some of whom are set to receive more than $1 million in damages.

And their final payments won’t arrive until after an independent firm “has finished reviewing all . . . claims and after all appeals have been completed.”

“It is estimated that this will be completed in 2011,” according to the letter from Worby Groner Edelman & Napoli Bern.

“It’s one big jerk-fest with this,” fumed a former NYPD detective. “We thought we were going to get this money for Christmas. A lot of us are behind on our bills.”
