Dozens of students were sickened yesterday after they drank contaminated water from fountains at a Queens school, education officials said.
School officials believe the chemicals came from faulty central air installed in a new wing of PS 20 in Flushing. They said the chemicals are low-toxicity.
At least 80 students were sent to area hospitals to be treated after complaining of stomach aches. Two students vomited.
Parents were called and notes about the issue were sent home.
