‘Hack from hell’ lawsuit
A cabby who was hacked off that a passenger was paying with a credit card screamed, “I don’t care if I lose my license!” before speeding off with the woman trapped in the back seat, a lawsuit charges.
Amy Ewertz was forced to jump out of the speeding cab — getting her foot run, claims the suit against Enaf Taxi for hiring the hack.
Ewertz claims she and two friends hailed cab 6H63 shortly after midnight on Sept. 1 and told the driver they were making two stops.
“Unbeknownst to plaintiff, the driver turned off meter” after the first stop and then restarted it, the suit says. “The driver demanded [she] pay the first fare, of $7.50, in cash as well as the second fare,” the suit says.
When she refused and paid with her card, the driver sped off with the terrified passenger, the suit says.
Enaf employees said they were unaware of the allegations.
