A turf war turned bloody in midtown Manhattan Wednesday when a Halal food vendor set up his cart directly across the street from another Halal vendor, police sources said.

The veteran Halal slinger objected and the other chicken and rice vendor, Khandaker Joy, reached for a cooking knife and slashed him in the abdomen.

The incident unfolded shortly after 10 a.m. at the corner of West 44th St. and Fifth Avenue.

Joy, a 35-year-old Manhattan resident, was charged with second-degree assault.

The 34-year-old victim, Sameh Barsoon, was taken to Roosevelt Hospital with a superficial wound.
