The glittery, iconic glove Michael Jackson wore when he premiered his trademark moonwalk in 1983 has been auctioned off for $350,000 at the Hard Rock Café in Times Square.
As the glove’s price soared yesterday, fans roared and squealed with pleasure — echoing the kind of frenzy that accompanied the late pop star on his tours.
The left-hand, sequined white glove Jackson wore for Motown’s 25th anniversary TV special was the top item auctioned, going for about nine times its pre-sale estimate of $40,000.
Also auctioned was the fedora Jackson wore that night, which sold for $22,000.
