Hardhat in blaze bust
A construction worker who yesterday carelessly sparked a blaze that gutted a Brooklyn house tried to speed off in his truck — only to find his path blocked by fire apparatus, officials said.
Efrain Ordoñez Llanzhi, 30, was illegally using a torch to repair the roof of the three-story residential building on Kent Avenue in Williamsburg when he accidentally ignited the fire, law-enforcement sources said.
One civilian and three firefighters were treated for minor injuries. Ordoñez was arrested on a charge of reckless endangerment.
