Hate-crime 911
A 24-hour hotline for gay and lesbian hate-crime victims who are uncomfortable calling 911 has been set up in Brooklyn, the district attorney announced yesterday.
“They may not want to call 911 or walk into their local precinct,” DA Charles Hynes said in announcing the hotline, reachable at 718-250-2759. “It’s a scary and traumatic experience for them.”
