A Queens imam was pummeled and robbed by a Muslim-hating straphanger during a fight on a Chinatown subway-station platform, authorities said yesterday.

Hate-spewing Albert Melendez, 30, and his buddy, Eddie Crespo, 28, an MTA bridge and tunnel officer, targeted imam Rod Peterson, 49, of Woodside, at 3:35 a.m. on Wednesday aboard a northbound A train, officials said.

“What are you, a camel jockey? I don’t like Muslims!” Melendez allegedly snarled.

When the imam fled the train at Canal Street, the pair followed and Melendez punched him and tossed his kufi, a cap traditionally worn by African men, onto the tracks, authorities said.

The pair was charged with robbery and assault, both as hate crimes, yesterday.

“I’m truly saddened,” Peterson said last night. “My daughter is in tears.”

Defense lawyers denied the tussle was a hate crime. Crespo has been suspended without pay.
