The city will soon ring in the future with a sleek, interactive pay phone fully equipped with Wi-Fi and other high-tech features, Mayor Bloomberg announced yesterday.
The mayor’s technology gurus have picked five finalists, and the public will pick a sixth that will be incorporated into the final design for 11,000 pay phones and kiosks throughout the city. One design calls for an Internet touch screen allowing users to call 311 and 911, check the status of flights and surf Google.
