Long Island health officials are urging patrons who dined at a Long Island restaurant from Aug. 6-20 to get a hepatitis A vaccination as a precaution.

The Suffolk County Health Department says a worker at the Driver’s Seat Restaurant in Southampton has tested positive for the virus.

The agency is offering free vaccination to individuals who ate at the restaurant. Vaccination can prevent illness if given within two weeks of exposure.

Locations, dates and times for vaccinations can be obtained through the agency’s hot line at (631) 787-2200.
