A New-York Historical Society exhibition of silver opening on May 4 includes a fork and knife that belonged to Adolf Hitler, each marked with the initials “AH.” The utensils have never been displayed before.

The museum says it received the flatware in 1946 from the late philanthropist and financier Carl Loeb.

Loeb got them from an American soldier who was a member of the force that captured Hitler’s chalet retreat in 1945.
