A bloodthirsty gunman shot a high school basketball player to death on a Brooklyn street and wounded two others in a wild rampage today, cops said.
The gun-wielding thug killed the 17-year-old on East 78th Street in Canarsie at 3:05 p.m., cops said.
He then chased two other students to East 79th Street, near Flatlands Avenue, shooting a 16-year-old boy in the leg, and grazing a 19-year-old in the shoulder. They were rushed to Brookdale Hospital and listed in stable condition, authorities said.
Students said the victims studied at at the nearby Brooklyn Theater Arts High School on Flatlands Avenue, and that their slain classmate was a member of the basketball team.
Shawn Brown, 18, said he had seen the three pals shortly before gunfire broke out. “We are all laughing and talking,” he said. “We have no idea who did this to them.”
Kevin Williams, 13, was stunned by the shooting. “They were good kids who never had problems with anyone in school,” he said.
No arrests have been made.
