Gasoline prices have never been higher at this time of year. Averaging $3.53 a gallon for regular, they’re up 25 cents nationwide since Jan. 1.
And they could reach a record $4.25 a gallon by late April, say experts with the Oil Price Information Service.
In New York state, the average is $3.70 a gallon for regular.
