Amid a firestorm of criticism from black community leaders, Hillary Clinton distanced herself Tuesday from a skit with Mayor Bill de Blasio that included a tone-deaf racial joke about “ CP time.”

“Well, look, it was Mayor de Blasio’s skit,” Clinton said in an interview with Cosmopolitan.com.

“He has addressed it, and I will really defer to him because it is something that he’s already talked about.”

The phrase “CP time” — which stands for “colored people time” — is a negative stereotype implying black people are habitually late.

De Blasio made the comment during a skit on stage at last weekend’s Inner Circle gala. Clinton was in on the “joke,” delivering the punchline that “CP time” meant “cautious politician time.”

De Blasio on Tuesday night defended the skit as a spoof and suggested people should lighten up.

“It was a satire. That’s what the show was — a satire. I was mocking myself,” he said on MSNBC.

“It was not meant to offend anyone.”

He said he felt “comfortable” with the humor.
