A mid-level appeals court yesterday upheld the conviction of disgraced former state Sen. Hiram Monserrate for a brutal 2008 attack on his girlfriend.

The Appellate Division, Second Department, rejected Monserrate’s claim that prosecutors failed to prove that Karla Giraldo, was really hurt in the attack that left her face slashed, needing 40 stitches.

Monserrate, 44, was convicted in 2009.
