A 33-year-old woman died Thursday morning after being struck by a hit-and-run-driver in East Harlem, cops said.
The woman was crossing the street near the on ramp for the FDR Drive at East 116th Street at about 6:30 a.m., according to police.
When cops arrived, the woman was found with severe head trauma, police said.
EMS pronounced the woman dead at the scene, cops said.
A short time later, a 27-year-old woman walked into a nearby police substation and told cops she thought she might have hit someone with her Nissan Altima, according to the NYPD.
The 27-year-old was being questioned by police as of 9:30 a.m. and no charges had been filed, cops said.
