A 24-year-old man was clinging to life after a hit-and-run driver mowed him down early Saturday near Fordham University, authorities said.

The victim was crossing Webster Avenue, near East Fordham Road, when a silver 2001 Volkswagon Passat struck him around 3 a.m., police said.

The driver fled the scene and ditched the car in a nearby parking lot, cops added.

Police found the car a few blocks away with damage to the windshield and front end, police said. Investigators are still looking for the driver.

The victim was taken to St. Barnabus Hospital in critical condition.
